Clint Eastwood was born on May 31, 1930, in San Francisco, California. His parents were Clinton Eastwood Sr., a bond salesman and later manufacturing executive, and Ruth Wood Eastwood, a housewife. Eastwood grew up in nearby Piedmont, California.
Acting Career
Eastwood's acting career began with small uncredited film roles and television appearances. He gained fame for his role as Rowdy Yates in the eight-season television series Rawhide (1959-1965). Since then, he has appeared in over 60 films, including Dirty Harry (1971), Unforgiven (1992), and Million Dollar Baby (2004).
Directing Career
In addition to his acting, Eastwood has also established himself as a successful director. His directorial debut was Play Misty for Me (1971).
