The series tells the fictionalized story of Lady Jane Grey, a young Tudor noblewoman who was Queen of England for nine days in 1553. After the death of her cousin, King Edward VI, Jane was proclaimed queen, but her reign was short-lived. She was deposed nine days later by Mary I, the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon.
My Lady Jane takes liberties with the historical record, but it remains a faithful adaptation of the spirit of the time. The series is full of lush costumes, beautiful scenery, and thrilling action sequences.
The cast of My Lady Jane is excellent. Emily Bader is particularly good as Lady Jane. She brings a sense of vulnerability and strength to the role. Edward Bluemel is also excellent as Guilford Dudley. He is charming and charismatic, and he has great chemistry with Bader.
My Lady Jane is a must-watch for fans of historical dramas and fantasy series. It is a well-made and entertaining show that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
